چکیده

The bootstrap method is often used for variance estimation in sample surveys with a stratified multistage sampling design. It typically implemented by producing set of weights that made available to users and accounts the complexity Rao–Wu–Yue produce required weights. valid under with-replacement at first stage or fixed-size without-replacement provided first-stage fractions are negligible. Efficient Replication Variance Estimation for Two-phase Sampling

Variance estimation for the regression estimator for a two-phase sample is investigated. A replication variance estimator with number of replicates equal to or slightly larger than the size of the second-phase sample is developed. In surveys where the second-phase sample is much smaller than the first-phase sample, the procedure has practical advantages. The method is similar in spirit to one o...

Replication Variance Estimation for Two-Phase Stratified Sampling

In two-phase sampling, the second-phase sample is often a stratified sample based on the information observed in the first-phase sample. For the total of a population characteristic, either the double-expansion estimator or the reweighted expansion estimator can be used. Given a consistent first-phase replication variance estimator, we propose a consistent variance estimator that is applicable ...

Estimating Variance of the Sample Mean in Two-phase Sampling with Unit Non-response Effect

In sample surveys, we always deal with two types of errors: Sampling error and non-sampling error. One of the most common non-sampling errors is nonresponse. This error happens when some sample units are not observed or viewed but they do not answer some of the questions. The complete prevention of this error is not possible, but it can be significantly reduced. The non-response causes bias and ...

Successive Difference Replication Variance Estimation in Two-Phase Sampling∗

Successive Difference Replication (SDR) is a method of variance estimation under systematic sampling. The method has been used at the US Census Bureau for important studies including the Current Population Survey and the American Community Survey. The statistical properties of SDR are evaluated in the context of other variance estimators applicable to single-phase systematic sampling. A simulat...
